Heroes season 3 has come to an end & it has left me somewhat with mixed feelings. I was introduced to the show by one of my friends who was a huge fan at that time & even after the recommendation I must admit that I took a hellvua lotta time to actually start watching it since I always felt that the concept of the show didn’t make much sense to me. The whole concept who super humans didn’t quite appeal to me .But once I started watching the show I was absolutely blown over by it. The different characters with their unique “abilities” were just fascinating to watch. As with everyone I too just adored the character of Hiro Nakamura.I just could not stand the wait between the episodes. The 1st season was brilliant & the 2nd superb!
But the 3rd season was really disappointing for me. I’m not saying that it was horrible nor am I saying that it was so bad that I’ll stop watching the show….NO WAYS!!!! But I just felt the new idea of “giving powers” to normal people was going against the backbone of the show coz its always nice to think that the heroes were born that way right? Also there were sooooo many new characters… characters that were thought to be dead but somehow were alive; many new “abilities” which actually were interesting but some how were too much to take in since they were all given to irrelevant characters. The “save the cheerleader save the world” took a whole new meaning. But personally what really made me go crazy was the whole thing about going into the future & coming back to the present & then going back to the past…. That was what really confused me like hell & everytime it happened I got lost. But I did like the new twist where it was shown that Sylar had conscience too & it was the “hunger” in him that made him the way that he was. Also I loved the flash back episode showing the other half of the happenings to the stuff that was shown in the 1st season. It’s the episode no. 8 of season 3 simply titled “Villains” which I thought was the best episode of the season.
Now the news from the makers of the show is that the new season which will be aired soon will start afresh. According to them “the new audience who haven’t seen the show earlier need not go back & watch the previous 3 seasons to know about the heroes coz the new season will start as if it were a brand new show!” This is mainly been done to make up for the disappointment of the audience with the 2nd & 3rd season .Hmm…. It does seem to be that way having seen the way the VILLAINS(season 3) ended. I’m really happy VILLAINS ended & really looking forward to watching the new season FUGITIVES where of course Nathan Petrelli is the new villain
